High-Performance Callaway Big Bertha 460 Driver Review
Starting with the original Big Bertha, Callaway clubs in every golf shop has always been associated with quality, high-performance drivers. Nearly every company has rushed to the 460cc limit, although Titleist took their time getting the 905R out. Callaway quickly released the Big Bertha Titanium 454 and came close to the limit but the Fusion FT-3 was actually the first Callaway driver to reach 460cc. So what could Callaway possibly do to improve on the already popular 454 golf clubs and, more importantly, does the 460 pass the grade?
The Callaway Big Bertha 460 driver has a geometrical all-titanium design that sees the head stretched and flattened to touch the dimensional limits set by the R&A and the USGA. This results in a deeper Centre of Gravity location for longer and straighter off-centre shots as well as optimum ball flight and maximum forgiveness. The Big Bertha 460 driver has the modified version of VFT Technology in which face thicknesses are designed specifically to maximize performance under the new USGA Characteristic Time test, resulting in a more robust face for increased ball speed on shots hit all over the face.
The Callaway Big Bertha 460cc head volume and shallower face inspire confidence at address. Wider head shape produces the highest Moment of Inertia ever in a Callaway Golf all-titanium head, resulting in increased stability and straighter drives, better than the previous products in the golf shop. Centre of Gravity positioned deeper within the club head for higher overall trajectory and helps get the ball airborne easily.
The Callaway Big Bertha 460 driver has a Consistent Alignment Sole, meaning the club head rests on two distinct areas of the sole, eliminating the tendency of the head to rock back and forth and helping ensure that shots start on-line. A Correct Alignment Stripe works in conjunction with the Chevron logo on each of these golf clubs, allowing golfers to consistently square the club face at address to ensure correct alignment.
All in all, the Callaway Big Bertha 460 driver, stable, forgiving and accurate, is a good option you should take into consideration when you are browsing a golf shop.
